iPod adapter to STD 1/8" jack?
Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forum, and I sure hope somone can help me...
I have a 2007 A3, with the standard radio system (don't remember the name exactly) with the iPod adapter kit. Everything works good except that when I have friends in the car that don't have an iPod, we can't listen to their music...
I thought of getting a cable that converts from the iPod male plug in the car to a 1/8" standard plug-in jack. But all my research returns nothing like this... The closest I found was a cable with a male iPod end, which can't plug into the other male end that is in the car...
I found a barbones female iPod plug to which I could weld, and do a female-female adapter. I would then plug in this "male iPod - 1/8" jack" cable into my fabricated female-female bridge.
So as you see, it's not really straightforward, and I'm not even sure that the radio unit would recognise another device appart from the iPod?
Is there something that I could plug into the back of the radio unit (in series?) with the iPod adapter kit?
Thank you all in advance!

I did find this via google...
iPod/iPhone Dock Connector ordering
I haven't any idea whether it would work...
You could replace the OEM Ipod integration with an aftermarket one. I just installed the Dice I-Audi-R adapter into my A4. This provides both an Ipod and a 3.5mm aux input, though not for cheap.
