Milltek or GMG or MTM are all awesome
check youtube for "V8 S4 MTM" or GMG or Milltek etc. and you'll find videos that show you the sound
cheers

Re: Want better sound from my s4
My friend has a BMW 540 in 6 speed manual and went with a custom exhaust system from a performance shop.
I drove the vehicle and it is just a little louder than stock but not overly loud. Unless you really pay attention, you wouldn't even be able to notice that the car has an exhaust system.
This could be a solution for better sound... just remember to ask for mandrel bent piping for the center pipe section.

I was planning on swapping out mufflers aswell. after doing some research it would still cost about 4-5 hundred bucks for just mufflers and the install.
I would recommend spending a couple hun more on a used system at least this route you will get the performance gains plus the awesome sound of our v8s.
I found a good deal on a used milltek system.

I did it before i replaced mine. all you have to do is disconnect the vaccum hose and plug the end. this will keep the flap open al the time resulting in a little deeper sound at low rpms. imho it will only leave you wanting more.
