New rings?! S4 4.2l 2007
Hello, I own a 2007 S4 with a 4.2L with 70,000kms. I've been having an oil comsumption problem lately so I brought it to the dealer.
We performed a weight test. Results: 0.69L/1000kms. They reconize a problem.
They followed up with a compression test dry. Results: Between 140 - 150, they say that's ok.
Leak Test 120lbs: ok.
Borrowscope inspection: no damage to cylinder walls or anything else.
So now they're telling me they are following procedure and the next step is to replace the piston rings with a "different kind" from the stock ones. They tell me the stock ones most likely wore and moved which causes the consumption.
Has anybody had any experience with this? personnally or other. Is this THE solution from audi? really?? Im on the edge of freaking out! First Audi and bad luck!
