Default Just bought 2001.5 s4 How reliable are they?

Just wondering if anyone could give me some information on how reliable A 2001.5 S4 is after 7 years of driving. Also any information on cost to maintain the car would great. I know right now the remote lock doesn't work and its not a battery issue, What should i expect with this car?

Make sure you do the timing belt/thermostat/waterpump if it hasn't been done already. Take good care of your turbos ie warm them up before going WOT and cool them down after a hard run. As with most cars there are certain issue that will be more prevalent. I must admit the 2.7T is a rather costly engine platform to maintain. Having said that I wouldn't trade my 2.7 for anything

You should expect years of good service, provided you properly maintain it.

Congrats on your purchase!

What is the mileage?

The hard part is that you never know how the previous owner(s) treated the Turbo's and the car's maintenance.

You can ensure quality synth oil changes with OEM Mann or Mahle filters, change brake fluid every two years, properly handle the Turbo's with gentle warm ups and cool downs, etc.

And follow Audi's recommended Maintenance Schedules:

LOL should have asked this BEFORE you bought the car

Basically, keep ontop of the maintence, and you'll be fine - oh, and don't drive it like you stole it either.
