Re: Planning to buy 01 A4 1.8T Quattro
I bought the 2001 audi a4 last september with 120k mileage. Here are couple of things that the previous owner did (according to the receipts) and then I have done so far.
What I have done
1. replaced timing belt
2. replaced all 4 ignition coils (it was for free last month. please check with the dealer)
3. replaced fuel injector ($250)
4. reconnected the disconnected fog lights
Why the previous owner did
1. replaced central locking pump
2. repaired wind shield
3. replaced batteries
4. replaced rear brake reline disc
Hope these be of any help to your decision. let me know if you have any further questions.

Re: Does this look strange to you?
Apart from the wheel being bent, check that the tire was installed properly as well. Sometimes there's a mark on the tire that is supposed to be adjacent (or opposite, can't remember) the valve stem. Failing that, you coould always have the tire bead broken and rotate the tire on the rim...may help.
That is quite a bit of weight though.
Just a thought: maybe the tire is defective. Michelin is the only manufacturer to x-ray 100% of their tires. Could have been a quality issue with that tire if the others balanced well and you know the rims aren't damaged.

Re: Does this look strange to you?
gents - thats not a ding/bent - it's the contour of the wheel surface -- unless you are telling me the rims could have been bent by all the mounting/dismounting?
the dealer has (According to them) spent a lot of time trying to roadforce balance all four corners, already replaced a full set of Pirellis, and this was the resul. 11 on one, 8 on the other (3 on one side, and 5 opposite diameter), and 2 on each of the fronts. including rotating the tire across the rim.
