Re: Permanent wax job
Uh...I don't think any wax will last that long. And if any extra layer will last that long, do you really want it too? I suspect it might have a bad effect on the clearcoat or will show scratches of its own. Sounds like a cashgrab for a wax job that will probly last you 7 months at most.

Re: Permanent wax job
Don't buy delaership protection package. Buy Zaino stuff or any wax and do it yourself.
I have same situation with you now. I'm picking up my car tomorrow or saturday.
I didn't purchase any dealership protection package(exterior, interior, tint, clear bra).
It's just wasting money. And I even ask them not to wash my car.

Re: Permanent wax job
This is a perfect example of how dealerships make their money. With these economic times, cutting their prices nets only a few $100 profit. I'd stay away from it and just use good 'ol elbow grease every season.

Outside Thermometer Malfunction
I drive a 2001 2.8 A4 Quattro, and the outdoor thermometer has just started acting up. I will be driving along in say 22 degree weather, and all of a sudden the outdoor thermometer will start dropping, and will go all the way to -50 and stay there for a while. Be patient and it will come back eventually, but the problem is that seems to drive the A/C unit. So if the A/C unit thinks it is -50, to get to 19, it will add hot air, and essentially, this thermometer makes my AC stop working.
I'm going to take it to the Audi dealer to get it fixed, but before I do, I'm hoping someone has been down this road, and I would like to have an idea of what a repair like this requires before I go in (i.e., computer re-program, new guage, and not that a $2,000 AC system is required).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
