Default Engine misses, Camshaft position sensor short

Basically what do we know about this?

I searched this forum (a4) for camshaft position sensor and found nothing. So I'm posting here...

On my way home from work today, (just before I got home actually) my 04 A4 3.0 started missing, then the check engine light came on... I vag scan'd it and it turned up the following codes.

Address 01: Engine Labels: None

Part No SW: 8E0 909 559 L HW: 8E0 909 059

Component: 3.0L V6/5V G 0010

Coding: 0016711

Shop #: WSC 63351

4 Faults Found:

17799 - Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 2 (G163): Short to Ground

P1391 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent

16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

P0300 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded

16688 - Cylinder 4: Misfire Detected

P0304 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded

16685 - Cylinder 1: Misfire Detected

P0301 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded

Readiness: 0000 0000

Has anybody had experience with this. Easy/hard to fix (cheap/expensive) Is it diy-able, or is one to take to the shop problem... Any info, or links to related info much appreciated.

Cheers!

Default Replacing Rear Avant Tail light bulbs

Well Been ages since I've been on friends! Hope all is well!

I have a 06 Avant with an expired tail light! How the deuce do you get into the housing? I'd rather not pay the dealer 65$ to change the damn thing!

Cheers..

PS Added some pics of my Winters setup and my euro plate.!!

Question Power window repairs

My rear passenger power window made a cracking sound while being raised. Now it does not go up and will drop down by itself. I tried removing the panel to investigate but could not get past removing a couple of screws. I do not want to pry it loose and break something. Does anyone have any instructions in how to remove the door panel and repair the window? My nearest dealer is about 85 miles away and I want to avoid the time and expense (if possible).

Thanks

Default Winter Wheels

Hi There,

Im new to the forum..it seems to have great info. Im on my 3rd A4..love them. I live in the country and i have stuck a suburban 4x4, a Ford 150 4x4 over the years in my lane..but the A4's always plow out with their winters.

I am driving a 2006 A4 Avant and want to get winters. I have my 16" steel rim winters from my old 2004 A4 sedan. Will these fit the 2006 a4 avant?

I see in some of these posts that the 2006 a4 avant can take 16 or 17 inch winters? But i hear the front calipers will rub with the 16's. Can i use them?

Any help would be appreciated.

y

Maybe crank the AC and get it to come out on it's own.
