Will most likely be changing the wheels and tires next spring to 19 and slightly wider tires to be flush with the fenders. That's probably all I'll do looks wise.

I love the Avant particularly the S4. Its nice to keep it stock but along with your choice on 19" and wider tires you might consider suspension change to lower it 1-1.5 inches. I also have a 2006 S4 and have done the exhaust which really makes the car sound incredible. The sound is intoxicating. I also have a lower car which not only increases handling performance but lookes better as well.
Great car.....take care

Yeah, I'm considering those as well. I don't consider them cosmetic though (even though suspension lowers the look). Mind if I ask you which suspension and exhaust you went with? Any pics? Did you see any hp gains with the new exhaust or just negligible gains but great sound? I guess that would depend how far up the exhaust you went.
Also, have you considered sway bars?
Also considering a short shifter and other stuff over time.
Thanks for the compliment on the car!

Nice indeed. Fills out the wheel well nicely. The car came with Michelin Pilots (not sports) and I'm not to happy with them. I'll finish the season on them though, probably replace the Michelins with winter tires on the stock wheels and buy 19" with sportier tires next spring.

Re: Still stock 2006 Sprint Blue S4 Avant
Thanks.
I was in France for two weeks driving a diesel Ford Mondeo rental. I was missing my S4 so much I actually dreamed about it near the end of my trip.
In my 4500 kms of driving in France, I only saw one 2005 blue S4 Avant on the road. Pretty rare cars.
One of the first things I did when I got back was to take the car out for a ride. It felt so good and tight and light after having driven the underpowered, sluggish pos Ford lol. The only benefit of crappy rentals. They make you appreciate your own ride that much more.

With a tune and exhaust there is for sure some HP gain, how much I am not sure. The throttle response is much better as well. When deciding on mods do your homework and research carefully. A great source that a lot of 4.2 S4 owners turn to is JH Motorsport and VAST Performance. Would love to see your car at one of our meets. We are getting together this coming Tuesday in Hamilton. If you need information jus PM me.

Re: Still stock 2006 Sprint Blue S4 Avant
Car looks great I got a 04 S4 Avant myself... I'll post pics soon, I picked up some black machined RS4 replicas off ebay (see attached photos) and I also thought I'd like the gunmetal machined ones... these are available in 19's as well (oewheelsllc is the company... usa made wheels)
I'm considering lowering springs, but will see how winter here in Wpg is first... I'm still trying to figure out if there is a lower fog light grill I can purchase that doesn't have the fog light, so that I can install an LED strip instead of the fog light... Needs tint too, lol...
Post pics of your choices, I'll be following... love the wagons.
