Things that are really **** me off about this Audi newsgroup.
1. If you want someone to reply only to the Group say so. Unless its really
obvious I don't know your e-mail is bogus.I know this is to protect you from
"spam" but maybe you should just get a filter like everyone else. I suspect
most of the people who do this never get a correct answer.I can't be
bothered to answer any more. I check the return email and if it looks weird
I don't bother.
2. If you trying to find something like a repair shop or something please
note where the hell you are! How about a state, county and country for a
start because most people have no idea when you ask Where can buy parts in
"dipstick county" ?.
3. You UK guys remember cars have years. Words like N reg don't mean
anything except in the UK.
That is all!

A newsgroup is useless if replies are sent by E-mail. Questions and
differents answers/solutions are of interest to all readers and
participants.

Where I come from it is assumed that if you post to a newsgroup
you expect an answer on that newsgroup. Sending a reply to private
email could be considered less desirable because lots of other
people could benefit from the same answer (remember Google groups etc.?)

Agreed. And if you mention a price please also state the currency. I
usually assume it's US dollars because europeans generally do mention
what kind of currency they're talking about.

You US guys remember Audis are European. Your years and models are
probably not the same as ours.

Counterpoint - and a lesson to noobs everywhere: It has always been a
cardinal sin to send email off-group *unless* it is requested.
Smarten up.

Now you're talking. If it's for sale or wanted, or to borrow or rent, it makes
no sense not to include the location.

Yup. Another direct hit.

AIUI this is default behavior for Usenet. If anything it is poor
etiquette to expect personal replies via email. You post here, you read
here.

Why don't you just post to the NG, then?!?

UKians, right?

And please state whether you are talking about miles or km when
stating a speed or the milage on the car. "The car has 110k on the
clock" doesn't mean a lot.

And since the US thinks they rule the world we all have to use US defaults
like .com or 001 international dialing and mangling of the English
language... but you colonialists do call it English and you use British
units hehe
