Reset procedure for Service indicator on TT
I had my 2000 TT serviced and the dealer was unable to reset the service
indicator on the instrument cluster. They said that the whole cluster needs
to be replaced, but I'm dubious because it's a new dealership and they
didn't seem quite sure of the procedure. Everything else on the cluster
works just fine.
Here is the procedure that they tried:
1. put key in ignition; do not turn on
2. press and hold right button on instrument cluster
3. turn key to on position; do not start
4. release right button, press and hold left button for about 8 seconds
I tried this repeatedly but was unsuccessful. Does anyone know if this is in
fact the correct procedure?
Thanks-
Ross

Have a look in your owners manual - there is usually something in there.

All they have to do is hook it up to their computer, a diagnostic scan
should be part of the service, while doing this they reset the service
interval, do they have a computer? are they a authorised Audi dealer? even
back street specialists should have the VAG COM software,
Steve.
