You mod it, you void the warranty. Some guys will give you the "they
have to prove the modification caused the problem" story. Here is a
reality check. If the dealer denies you service on a warranty repair
because you modified the vehicle, then you have to go to court on your
own time and money to prove otherwise.
That being said, some dealers (Fred Baker in Ohio, for example) are
used to modifying Audis and actually have agreements with tuners. If
you buy the car from a dealer that has that kind of mindset, then they
may be more tolerant of modifications. IOW, they understand the
modifications, the engine limits, reliability trade-offs, and can add
2 and 2 and get 4. Some dealers just can't cope with it.
