Airbag light stays on for 2 minutes after new battery
I recently replaced a dead battery in my '96 A6. Since then, the
airbag light stays on after ignition for approximately 2 minutes. Has
anyone else seen this phenomenon? If so, what was the remedy/cause?
Did the dealer/shop simply reset the controller with their VAG tool?
If not, what was the remedy/cause?
Thanks much,
Sadfly

Dead battery probably drained the power from your reserve airbag power
supply. This produce a fault code which can only be reset with a VAG
tool. As long as the light is on the airbag will not deploy.
