2002 A6 Cigarette lighter Fuse blowing
I recently tried to connect a power adapter to the front cegarette lighter
of my 2002 A6 and there was nothing... Tried the rear and also nada...
Checke dthe fuse blown, when I tried to replace the fuse, it blew it before
it even got into the slot.
Anyone had this one before? I figured I would open and pull the "dash" and
console pieces out to see if there is anything obviously shorting. ANy
other ideas?
TIA!

Re: 2002 A6 Cigarette lighter Fuse blowing
Right here goes..
Just had the same problem but both my lighter front and back had been working fine.
Checked fuse..just like you and it was blown.
Tried replace fuse and it blew which meansthere is a short somewhere n the lighters.Prayed it was not the front one as I do not kow howto pullthat apart.
This s what I done. Easy pull of rear seat cig lighter/vent panel. Disconnect wire from lighter. Then try new fuse. If itdoes not blow like was thecase with me check for power at front lighter. his was ok with me. I also checked for power at rear cable and there was power.
Conclusion is I need to relace back lighter assy??..anyoe know P-N?
At least the fault is isolated to rear cigarette lighter
