1990 90 quattro 20v 2.3 exhaust

1990 90 quattro 20v 2.3 exhaust
just purchased the beast and heard a wee blow from exhaust; on looking it
appears that the front half is a different diamater pipe from rear!; also,
when replacing worn o ring had to buy one from the 80 exhaust sytem!
so..has someoneone put an 80 front(or rear) half exhaust on; can i ignorer
the lamda sensors and cut out the cat?..any help[ appreciated....

Not sure on the size issue but the O2 sensor information is required by the ECU
in order to manage fuel efficently so leave the CAT in.

Not sure on the size issue but the O2 sensor information is required by the ECU
in order to manage fuel efficently so leave the CAT in.
