Should I buy 2007 A6 3.2L?
Hi guys,
In the market to get my new ride. Looking at Certified Pre-owned 2007 3.2l A6. Are there major issues I should look out for? I am a VW guy and know that inherently there are issues like, sensors, electrical faults, gasket leakages, miss-firing engine...have you guys seen or experienced big issues with the 3.2l motor? Should I not get into this vehicle?
Thanks in advance for the advice!

The only issue I am aware of concerns the engine carbon issue. Some of the other members who have experienced this will probably pipe in on this.
Other than that great driving car. Let us know how you make out?

Thanks! Will see what others say...so far I am in a tough battle...I was looking at the BMW 5 series (530, 535, 550)...but the only engine that's somewhat trouble free is the 550i. Caveat is that I am not looking for a V8!!
The other car to look at was the MB CLS...but the 4 pasengers ONLY issues bothers me.

Im looking at two cars right now...one is 3.2 and the other is 4.2. Similar mileage and same year. The price difference between the two cars is $7k. The 4.2 is the expensive one.
So what's the advice? I am thinking of going with the 3.2 and saving the $7k. I can put that money on the side for potential repairs

Re: Should I buy 2007 A6 3.2L?
went and test drove the 3.2. To sum it up...it drives nice, but lacks that power right from 0-100. I am willing to compromise on that since the price comes within my budget.
I also test drove the 528xi...and think that..it has good torque and low end speeds, which works great for city driving. I hate the iDrive, and electronic gear BMW has. The last car I am going to drive before picking out the vehicle to focus on will be the MB CLS500. I think that car looks sweeet...and MB holds it's value much better than Audi's and BMW's.
Did anyone test drove the above (in any combination) and what were there thoughts? Am I doing the right thing to bundlle these cars together? The prices are very close to each other, so that's what makes the decision even harder.
Thanks!

You can compensate for acceleration by selecting lower gear, and using BOSH Iridium Spark plugs. I have 2.8 and I have no complains about the power.
The 4.2 could be a gas guzzler.
