Hi All;
Does anyone have an alternative to opening one's wallet down at the your friendly Audi dealer to get copie(s) of ones keys? eBay is selling uncut blank remotes but I'm not having much luck finding someone (that I trust) who would laser cut them in Vancouver. But then, do you still have to go to the dealer to program the remote, or is there a home-grown way that someone has figured out?
As well, how 'bout a non-remote traditional-style (valet?) key, any insights on where to pick-up those?

Did you find a satisfactory source for key blanks? I've got a 2000 A6, and we've lost our remote key. Anywhere in Ontario, Canada?

This has been a dying post, but if anyone is still experiencing the same kind of grief as the two posters above me, I've acquainted myself with a fellow that can order, cut and program our sidewinder keys, all for a great cost too. I'm in the GTA so its Mainly a local deal, Just IM me and Im sure I can set you up.

 

I just got a spare key. Bought it off ebay. You can get your key cut at a few Locksmiths. They need to have a "Sidewinder" machine with the proper jaws to clamp the key. I got mine cut at a place called Doc Lock in Cambridge.

The key can only be programmed with VAG-COM if the immobilizer uses a four digit code. The newer 7 digit code immobilizers need to be programmed using the dealer scan tool.

 

I have experienced the whole process (on 2003 A6).

Have some blank keys left ----FOBs and wallet.
