Couple of Questions, Oil and coolant temps.
When i bought th car before i did any work to it (oil change and timming belt kit)
the oil temp stayed at the first temp bar, and the coolant stayed at 90 degrees. After i got the timming belt kit done, and the oil changed it seems like the temps are hotter, the oil temp goes almost strait up and the coolant goes to the next bar past 90 degrees.
any ideas why or is it fine?
the car is a 2000 2.7t
Thanks

Re: Couple of Questions, Oil and coolant temps.
Just a thought but if the Thermostat was replaced as part of your Timing Belt Kit, it may have been one temp step hotter. There are a few different temp thermostats available for the 2.7T
With factory thermostat, coolant temp gauge will read 90 degrees.

They did replace the thermostat, but the temp will change it ranges any between 90 and the next bar. I was told that it's possible that they didn't bless all the air out of the coolant. Does this sound right?

Like K04, I believe is is a different model of thermostat they used. 90 is normal for OEM and I think if it is not excessive, I am sure it is fine. As for oil, did you use a different weight of oil than recommended for the vehicle?

Dealer tells me that my oil temp is normal at that Temp (~high 80, 90 and 100).
I still cant swallow that pill. Any suggestions on what to do to lower oil temp or is this really what twin turbo engines heat up to?

Re: Couple of Questions, Oil and coolant temps.
I found my dam problem boyzzzz.
Its my oil type thats causing it to heat up a bit more then it used to. I always used to do my oil changes at Audi dealer until my last one that I did at a Nissan dealer. Nissan doest use 5w40 FULL SYNTHETIC OIL, instead they use MOBILE1 5W30.
I knew something wasnt right and I finally figured it out. Im getting my oil replace this friday with Castrol Syntec 5W40 Full Synthetic Oil and trust me the temp will drop.
Peace out!
