the anti-theft system does not seem to activate properly on my 2004 audi allroad. i purchased it used, so im not sure the last time it worked.

the doors and trunk seem to properly lock, but no alarm beep/chirp is heard and alarm light on door does not illuminate or blink.

Can someone point me in the direction of how to start troubleshooting this? thanks for the help.

 

Check all doors and latches. If something is not shut correctly, it won't beep but will lock.

 

^ +1, did this work before or it never worked? Check the fuses, if you can, get the car scanned, if there are no errors check your coding. Someone could have simply unprogrammed it

i bought the car used. it never worked. all doors and trunk seem to shut and lock properly. Im thinking it's the trunk because i had to play with the key positions to get it to lock from the key fob (trunk would stay open even though doors would lock)

i'll scan it and see what comes up.
