1998 Audi A6 upgrade suggestions
Hi!I just bought a new 1998 Audi A6 and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I should look for in regards to preventative maintenance.
Also, I am interested in getting coil overs for the A6 and I was wondering if anyone has any experince with any of the current brands out there? What kind did you buy? What are your general thoughts on them?
Thanks Guys!!!

Try and find out its service history - timing belt, water pump, tune up, oil changes etc... if you look after it properly - regular service - the engine could last a long time! The tranny is another story - it could be trouble free if it was not abused. There is plenty written whether to change the tranny fluid and filter or not - some say leave it and others (myself included) change it. If the car has high mileage then leave it alone - you could unsettle something in the tranny and there it goes. Just keep up a good routine and it will last! Front control arms a a bit of a weak point - the bushings within wear out quickly. Usually once replaced that will be it! (You have to replace the complete control arm which get expensive)
Regarding suspension - your car does not have alot of power so you are not going to be too racey with it. Coilovers are good but might I suggest something like the Eibach pro kit and a set of H sport sways. Some money saved and a great set up for the car - that is how I have mine set up. I also have 17X8 rims with 235/45 tires. I enjoy the way my car behaves in the ramps etc...
