Pistons/Rings Replaced = Still Burning Oil Help
I was burning about .98L/1000km. Did oil consumption test and failed. Changed the pistons and rings.
It is still burning oil. Told me to try a few thousand kms for the rings to sit properly. 5000km later. It is burning about .85L/1000km, that wasn't the problems.
Audi topped it off 650kms ago and now it is at 50%. They refuse to do another oil consumption test. I have to pay for it on my own...
What can i do?

Re: Pistons/Rings Replaced = Still Burning Oil Help
I have asked but they told me that the numbers won't mean anything because the rings need time to sit properly.
At this moment what can I do?
every 1000km i am going back to the dealership and having them top it off to see how many ml it's using.
the last one was a little of 500ml. But it's very cold and I'm driving it slow. I know in summer it will get worse as everything warms up.

So the dealership did the work? Just keep doing what they say.
Do you drive this vehicle hard usually? What kind of oil are you using?

Re: Pistons/Rings Replaced = Still Burning Oil Help
I've always gone to the dealership. I have Audi care. So they use the Castrol Synthetic.
Plug I never checked.
I try to baby the car as it is very hungry on gas, but on weekends I drive a little spirited.

You never said the year and kms on the car when it was repaired.

Re: Pistons/Rings Replaced = Still Burning Oil Help
Keep track of the oil / milage required by the car since the repair. Follow what the dealership wants you to do and document all communication with the dealer. Your next step is to go to the regional zone manager for help. If needed work your way up the food chain. Documentation will help your cause should you decide to litigate.
