Performance chip for 2.0L Turbo
I am the new owner of a 2010 A4, and I was wondering about installing a chip. Whats the general concensus - are they a good idea? Do they work as advertised (i.e. increased HP and fuel economy)? Would installing one void my new car warranty? And which brands are best? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!
APR and GIAC are the 2 main chips that i think people tend to go with. i personally have a APR chip which is slightly more aggressive. give about 45hp and 100tq more over stock if you run it in 94. you can get a fully loaded chip which does stock/91/94/100. when on sale can be from 515-599. if not on sale reg price is 1299. there are shop that can do the installs and are certified by APR to do the install. the sale are dictated by APR. APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles. will have all your info as to installers/prices.
it can void the warranty if they can tie the failed part right back to the chip. not common at all for that to happen... mainly because you just set your program back to stock and can lock it out. all this is done via the cruise control.
i hope this info helps you and if any of this is over your head by all means let me know and i will do my best to break it down or go into more details on what parts you have more questions about.
