Re: Need advice on problem A4 2012
Welcome.
I have owned an A4 Premium S-Line for a year and one month so I will offer my experiences so far.
1) I have not had the headlamps washer stuck open for me but a friend of mine who has an S4 has had that problem. He cleaned it out and it has not happened since.
2) I can barely hear the turbo if at all but I can feel it. If you feel the acceleration is not smooth then something is up.
3) The auto door locks engage at 15 km/h so that could be the sound you are hearing.
4) The RS4 wheels are soo awesome that I got them for winters as well albeit in a smaller size. You definetly have to watch out for curbs and potholes with the 19's but so far I have not had any issues. See what the dealer can do since it's only been a month.

If have had more issues in 6 months with this than the 3,5 years I had my 2007 a4.
1. Weather seal on drivers door replaced 2x
2. Chirping sound over bumps
3. Now I have a loud clunk sound when reversing in parking spaces. Not sure where it's coming from exactly.

Yeah,
The headlamp washer is getting stuck on the cover, was thinking about trimming it but i'll let the dealer deal with that, car is under warranty till 160k km
The knocking sound I hear is not the doors locking, its a faint ticking sound barely distinguishable that I hear when the radio is off and ac fan low. it engage every time the car is moving slower than 8km and while accelerating it "ticks" at EXACTLY 15 km/h. Accelerating soft or hard, and whatever the gear or the settings, even with the ASC off, I guess it's something in the ABS or whatever, its just annoying as f* hell. I tought at first it was a bushing or something but I diagnosed the conditions in which it occurs and it happens everytime.
As for the mag, i didnt come in contact with any curb or potthole, it just seems that there was a defect in the mag, its just a chip that came off!!! Had mags on all my car and never had a single scratch!!
Gotta love the german cars!! Had a 2009 TDI for 4 years that I just traded in. Had to rebuilt the rear drivetrain completely after three years, bearings were gone! Did it myself at a fraction of the dealer price lol. While being there I replaced the discs and pad. Pad were gone too.
Fun, never ending fun. But I expect a little bit more out of a 56 750$ car..!

Re: Need advice on problem A4 2012
OP, I get some clicking when the car starts off but occurs at a much lower speed. like 5km or 10km. I think that one is the ABS system priming itself and can be felt in the pedal area.
To PhinX404, I get the same problem when I back up into a space. I have found some musings on AZ indicating it could be the steering column binding -- but it only clunks when I press on the brake while backing up. Given my past experience with the dealerships they might take awhile to officially diagnose this problem... or maybe they'll find a way to exit themselves from the liability somehow (I have springs from Eibach)

"2- Turbo sounds like its loosing boost in acceleration"
I only had this problem once and almost went into service. Although, to me it 'felt' like, not 'sounded' like. Anyhow, the evening before doing so, I ended up gunning it close to 200km/h on an open freeway and the problem disappeared. Since then, I avoid Husky gasoline, as I got some the same day from a gas station located at the edge of the city (Calgary). The problem did not occur again ever since (Feb 2012). From then on, Esso mostly or Petro-Canada premium only.
