I've got theweathertech liners, they fit great in my 2009 A4. Much better than regular mats (in my opinion). Expensive though..

Yeah.. It is expensive compared to other liners but it sure is worth the price. I have it on my car and it's been 3 years still looking okay.

Just a note to point out that the the WT mats are different from their liners. The liners provide more protection up the sides (great for keeping salt away from the carpet); however, dont have the depth to save pants from soaking up the crap ...

Agreed. I have WT mats on my wife's MDX. It can fully trap the water like a little pond. I need to pick up the water everytime at the gas station with their paper towel but it is good proctection to the carpet.

Had these in my B7 Avant and I just ordered a set of WT Floorliners for my 2011 Avant. So far they only list a set for the front.

IMO, they offer the best winter protection. I also place a small piece of indoor/outdoor carpeting under the top edge of the mat and covering the foot-rest. Saves the foot-rest from being scratched up in the winter.

I picked up a set of OEM mats from the dealer today.

The fit is very prices and I'm happy with them. I wouldn't call them an "aggressive" design. The sides could be higher. That being said, I won't be returning them in favour of something else.

I owned all 3 types of mats and liners - WT liners for my Ridgeline Truck, WT mats for my P-car and OEM rubber mats on my wife's A3.
The WT liners provide the most protection of the carpet as they completely covers the floor from side to side. It is made of a thin plastic shell, not rubber. As mentioned in previous posting, the liners lack the deep grooves which you can find on most mats. Also, it does not fully cover the dead pedal so the carpet around that area can still get dirty from the bottom of you shoes.
The WT mats are made of thick rubber and fit very well. The WT mats are half the price of the OEMs or the WT liners, i.e. good value. The 2nd row mats are a bit skinny IMHO.
The OEM mats for the A3 are very nice - they are made of thick rubber and molded white A3 lettering on the side. I expect the A4's are of the same quality.
I think both OEM and WT mats would offer good protection against everyday use. The OEM 2nd row mats are better than the WT's as they are deeper and have the anchor points. However, if you live in heavy snowing area with lots of salting and sanding, the WT liners will offer the best protection.
Having said all that, my personal choice would be the OEM mats (especially if they are freebies).
