Default Best winter mats? OEM or WeatherTech?

OK.. here's another question: What is considered the best winter mat for the Audi A4 2.0T Quattro? I definitely don't want those salt stains I had on my other one. Should I get OEM mats or weathertech floor liner?

Anybody know any good places here in Ottawa to get them?

thx.

Weathertech provide better protection than OEM. Just purchased a set for our B8 A4. Been using LLtek winters for the past 3 cars and they too provide better protection than OEM's. I'm also in Ottawa and happy to show you them some time ... nowhere to buy locally unless you want OEM.

Thanks Stevelev. Are the LLTek mats good with a lot of snow? They are mats right, and not a liner like the WeatherTech ones? Do you get any salt stains on the underneath carpet at all?

thx.

NP. The LLteks are mats, have a rubberized backing and clip in place exactly like the OEM ones. They do rise up the sides a bit whereas the OEM ones do not so yes they do protect the carpet from salt stains. I did have small salt stains last year beside the gas pedal and beside the deadpedal as the lltek Mat doesnt go up more than 3/4 of an inch (Weathertechs are better for this). They were so small that it took nothing to clean and shampoo wasnt required. One thing I've read about the Weathertechs is that they're a bit slippery ... not sure oif there's a B8 version available though.

OK, cool. Thx. OK, I am a total newbie with Audi's so, B8 is the "version." right? My 2009 A4 Quattro is a B8 version? The weathertech website says it will fit the 2009 A4 Quattro.

What to do, what to do...

Any advice on tires/rims to get for the winter?

look at general discussion, this section and a3 section. The recent ( last week) tire threads are everywhere!!!!!

b8 is the generation so in a way it is version. like my audi is 1998 so 1996-199.5 used the same platform, b5 ( body)
then 2000-2004 (ithink would be b6 and so on u to your b8. thats all it is.

Thanks GeneKam, I'll check them out.

Any good recommendations locally for rims/tires? Or is it just worth it to get them at tirerack.com and go to ogdensburg and pick them up.. ??

It may be worth trying to find used OEM wheels (with 66.6 mm hub size). Alternatively, there are a few aftermarket wheels that fit the B8 (B7 is 57.1 mm hub). Tire Rack can provide exactly what's available and then you can do some comparison shopping between them and 1010tires or Tiretrends from out west.
