Bang & Olufsen Problems

Bang & Olufsen Problems
Hey all,
I've got an 09 audi a4 premium with the additional Bang and Olufsen sound option. It has treated me well for the majority of my a4 ownership, however, just recently I have been hearing some rattling in my door panels. Majority of the rattles come from the front doors. Only happens at louder volumes. Has anyone had this problem?
It's odd because super deep bass songs don't have the issue but songs that are more of the acoustic guitar sound like Jack Johnson music give me issues. \
Any advice? I do have my bass cranked to max and it does get better when I tone it down a bit, but what's the point of having the system if you can't use it to its max capability. Don't get me wrong I am happy with the addition but I just expected a bit more.
Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Bang & Olufsen Problems
Hey, I've noticed the same issue with the B&O sound system in my fully loaded 2009 A4. The car goes in for its 6 month inspection tommorrow and I am going to mention it to them since it is at the dealership where I purchased the car.
Will get back to you if the cause is found.

Words of caution.
I've had my 2009 A4 for over a year now. I have had two problems with my B&O system.
1. During a wicked cold spell in the GTA (-45ish), left the car at home to deal with some business in the Ottawa area. Came back after 4 days, turned on the car, turned on the stereo, CRACK. No bass from the speakers. The cone on the subwoofer cracked. Took it into the dealer, under warranty, no problem. Be careful of the cold, what the dealer told me is that the car is not very well insulated.
2. After a couple months, heard a rattling sound from the back panel. Took it back to the dealer, they said it was screws that were holding the sub in place.
Check with the dealer, the rattling could as possibly be something simple as tightening screws

I really don't know about how reliable their car audio is, but an 8" sub isn't really meant for extreme volumes. But, B&O are known for their sound quality at any volume level. That is why their music systems are so expensive. You pay for the aesthetics and the quality.

Re: Bang & Olufsen Problems
Hi Guys !
I just got a 2010 Q5 with premium, Bang and Olufsen, SLine package blablabla....
Is there a way to prevent the B and O sound system to continuously bring down
the volume when I try to play it loud ? Audi calls for 505 watts.... but it sounds like it has barely 150 to me.... any updates, changes or ways to enjoy the whole 505 watts that I paid for ?
Thank you !

Hey,
I've got an 09 A4 Premium, B&O. Here's what worked for me.
You can try turning off the speed control...maxing out the volume limit... and blasting it on full volume...you gotta let the speakers break in though. Like all high end speakers there is a considerable amount of break in required. I didn't go full blast until about the 3rd month of having my car.
Now I just use the volume speed control (audi calls it GALA) because it works pretty well. I use level 7 for GALA and max out the volume control. Bass is maxed out, Mid is two notches off center and so is the treble, and surround sound is always on. If you want a little deeper sound turn surround off.
Happy Listening.
Cheers...
