A4 2.0T Gas Consumption. What is yours?
I've been trying to keep a record because I feel that my gas consumption is pretty bad. Can you tell me your gas consumption?
I'm driving about 20% City and 80% highway and I'm very light on the gas pedal always watching my instantaneous consumption and avoid using the A/C and keeping the windows closed.
Km ----- Liters ----- L/100km ----- Date ----- Gas Used
330 ----- 38.2 ----- 11.58 ----- 7-Nov ----- Shell 91
417 ----- 46.7 ----- 11.20 ----- 14-Nov ----- Shell 91
148 ----- 20.0 ----- 13.51 ----- 21-Nov ----- Shell 91
32.7 ----- 03.6 ----- 11.01 ----- 21-Nov ----- Shell 91

Re: A4 2.0T Gas Consumption. What is yours?
Hi,
I have an2010 A4 and on a recent trip Mtl-Ott my consumption was 6.6l/100 and that was driving really nice..99% highway
and
on another trip Mtl Boston it was 7.8l/100 but I was in a lot of heavy stop and go traffic
This is what my on board trip computer gives me.
Are your figures your own calcaluation or is it what the trip computer gives?
Is there aq discrepancy between the two?
Definitely, you should be getting better that that, unless your car is brand new and not broken in yet. I remember my 1999 jetta got terrible gas milage and it greatly improved only after 10,000km

This is me looking at odometer and topping up gas and recording KMs and L.
That is pure highway thou. I'm doing a little city.
My onboard computer says I should be getting 640km per tank as well.... I wish I could do that.

I don't have records either but I'm definitely getting less than 450km per fill up, although I do alot of city driving.
On long highway trips, definitely much better mileage @ closer to 600km.
Cheers.

Just curious what your trip computer tells you.
Your instanteous fuel consumption is based on how you are presently driving
and
then your average fuel mileage or KM/100l can be read via the trip computer 1 and trip couputer 2 ....see page 24 and 25 owners manual if you are unfamiliar....you may have to toggle with the selector switch and the reset button.
Hope this helps you.

Im not sure how to switch between trip computer 1 and 2. I'll try that right now but I know regular driving the trip computer I get around 10. I'll take a nice drive downtown (mostly highway) and see.

Re: A4 2.0T Gas Consumption. What is yours?
K, took a drive downtown from my place to my friends place. Typical ~40km drive with the heater (A/C) set to 22.5C as it was a nice 2C outside today in Montreal.
The trip computer gave me the total at 8.9L/100km. This is my typical driving. A few red lights, a few stop signs and mostly highway.
So technically I should be getting 620km on every tank (55L) but i'm getting about 480km. So there is a 2.6L/100km in inconsistancy somewhere.

Re: A4 2.0T Gas Consumption. What is yours?
The fuel consumption in my 2006 A4 Quattro w/2.0T varies considerably:
1) On the highway in the middle of summer I can get 720km out of a single tank.
2) City driving (lots of starts and stops, max 60km per hour if I'm lucky) in summer I get 500km to a tank
2) Driving in the city on the way to work in the middle of winter, I get between 400 and 425 km to a tank.
The winter city driving is brutal because I live so close to my office that the engine doesn't get to operating temperature before I arrive at work.

Re: A4 2.0T Gas Consumption. What is yours?
How are you checking your consumption? Personally I don't pay much attention to how many km's per tank I get, I reset the trip computer everytime I fill up, then check it against how many litres I fill up with next time.
I average about 8l/100km highway driving since im usually cruising at 10-15 over the limit (in fact that was the average I got driving down to seattle and back this summer, 3000km~ approx through the mountains) and about 10-11 in the city depending on how I drive. Pretty much dead on to what the computer in the car says most of the time.
