2012 A4 Quatro Vs 2011 BMW 328xi
Hey guys,
Im looking at these two cars right now.
Pricing is coming out to about the same.
only difference is that the bmw is a 24 month lease and the audi a 36 month lease.
Some guidance would be great.
Thanks,
Vbh

I haven't driven the specific years you've mentioned, but we were shopping for slightly older wagons this summer and drove both Audis and BMWs. While I preferred the steering feel of the BMW, my wife liked the styling of the Audi (so we ended up with an S4 Avant).
My suggestion - get out there and go for good test drives of both!
Cheers,
Bryan

The '08 BMW quattro automatically switched off at 120km if my memory is correct. I leased A-3 3.2 quattro for that reason. End of lease in Feb ( with 118,000k now) and will lease '12 A4 Avant S-Line
BTW, BMW denied my claim but when BMW were asked to confirm in writing about all-wheel drive automatically not cutting out at 120km, they refused !
If full time is essential, get it in writing with BMW. Audi is full time...and reliable.
Good luck

If your going for a BMW make sure they don't give you the standard tires they will get you killed. Walmart has better quality. Get them to throw in the Sports package tires.
Do you plan on buying it or leasing it?
I like the interior of the Audi more than the BMW, make sure you get Audi Care to make the comparison the same. The BMW has a more spirited feel on the road but I find the steering not very well balanced compare to the Audi.
If you've driven an M3 then drive a regular 3 series you will see what I mean. I feel as if they Made the M3 then made it cheaper to make a 3 series. Vs Audi A4 is an A4 and the S4 is a more powerful version.

Thanks for the note. Not leasing BMW because just had problem-free 118,000km on the A3 S-line.
Instead leasing next month, 2012 A4 S-line Avant with all options, 3M protection film and max UV block on all windows.
Now with real expense records I'll consider Audi Care but I sense that with my driving style and 99% 401 or Interstate use it was cheaper to manage maintenance my self-Castrol Syn 5-40 and all filters- but to their schedule and only with Audi parts.
For what it is worth, my mechanic who also does alignment using Audi software, reset the factory specs on car to improve fuel mileage and tire life.
He explained to me that Audi setting maximize handling at 140-160KPH in a curve which is wasted on my driving style [90KPH] on the above highways. I would have a nose bleed @140 !
I also check air pressure before every trip and every morning when on a trip. I gas up at night and inflate tires, then at 7am following day, adjust to max. on tire wall.

I like my Audi care because I drive it in and never get charged a penny till 80,000$.
If you got a good mechanic then your set!
I don't know about nose bleeds at 140. It's very stable at 140, you wouldn't feel it. I put in a speed warning at 130 because I sometimes slip over on long highway drives
I'm curious about the Audi software your talking about, because i do have bad gas millage. I'd appreciate more information about the software.

The software is the Audi program to align wheels. Ask Scott at Niagara Battery & Tire St. Catharines On 905 682 8450 for details if your garage needs help. At least 5% improvement and less tire wear.
