19" Wheels 2009 A4
Anybody have 19" wheels on the A4? I've never driven with upgraded rims before but I'm being told that the larger the rim, the less comfortable/noisy the drive. Considering the A4 is reasonably comfortable/quite with my stock 17s, what can i expect if i go up to 19s? is it recommended other than pure looks?
how thick can i go on tire width also?

You will get a VERY rough ride on 19's as chances are you will be running rubber band 35 sidewalls. If the roads are rough you will greatly increase your risk of bent rims as well. I LOVE the looks of 19's but the cost of tires and the risk of bent wheels make me choose to not go over 18's myself.

The sline comes with 19 rims". I find the noise level is very quiet and you do feel the road when it's a rough road, but it's not anywhere near uncomfortable. I drive in downtown Toronto to work and I have no complaints. Just don't aim for the large holes cause those rims aren't invulnerable.

as already mentioned Audi offers 19's(255/35) as an option. There are many B8 A4 owners running 19's and some with 20's. I believe the widest 19" tire you can get on is a 265, most people running 255/35 as well as 245/35. Lower profile tires w/ larger wheels will help cornering performance considerably. I'm used to running with larger wheels so I don't find it rough or uncomfortable but if you're coming from a Lexus with fat tires and plush suspension it will be quite different.
