Vibration
I have a 2008 S line A4 2.0T with 18 ' Pirelli tires.
I like my car except that the idle is extremely rough so much that loose objects shake and move sometimes and my dealer tells me this is normal on the 2008 FSI engines.
When I drive it is fine is there any solution? my car is still under warranty.
Another problem is that I have vibration at 130 +kmh, the dealer informed me that 1 of my tires was faulty and they are worn but I am getting the same thing happening with my winter tires and it is fairly constant. I can accelerate without vibration but if I am cruising around 130-140 I feel the vibration in the steering wheel, pedal and the seat. It is fairly consistent. Is there something else other than tires that can be checked. Do I need to find another Audi dealer, I am in Ontario Canada and there are quite a few dealerships.
Please help I do want to keep my car beyond the lease but only if I can resolve these issues.
Thanks,
Pesi.

HERE is a useful link for you to check out. It's a dealers list throughout Canada. By the way, welcome to the forum!

Re: Vibration
Rough idle is normal for a auto tranny, but excessively rough is odd, does it still have a rough idle in neutral? no CELs? or any other error codes? check motor mounts? I heard the N80 valve plays a role in the vibration issues. Also when i drove a very old lexus, i also had vibrations in the steering column to the wheel when cruising at 120+ , this was because my wheels werent aligned properly :P , maybe you need a wheel alignment? seems odd, since your cars seems recently new, but you never know! lol

Re: Vibration
Hi the snow tires are on different rims.
I do plan to have another dealership examine my car and will inquire about all of the items
that some of you have suggested.
Yesterday I was accelerating past 150kmh and soon as I eased up and let the speed drop I got vibration occurring, typically at 135kmh and it continues till the speed dropped below 120kmh (approx)
Thanks

Re: Vibration
go to your 150km/h and put your transmission to neutral. This will eliminate an other possibility!
I have a 2003 A4 140 000KM and it vibrate at idle! If i look at the motor it look like aving the parkinsone. I don't understand why some ingenior didn't fix that vibration in the more recent one. I try a 2011 A4 and it was vibrating also! If i put it in neutral at a red light, it vibrate a lot less.
no vibration at high speed, even at 200km/h
