Default Vacuum hose ...maybe

Hi all,
I have '06 A4 FWD CVT sedan 2.0L. From Florida and I've owned it for about a year. I like it very much. Lately, two things have been happening. First the cruise control would engage only intermittantly - until now and it never engages when I check it. The other thing is how the engine assists the braking going down longer hills. It used to be that when going doe=wn a hill and I apply the brake lightly, the engine would rev as it assited the braking - now it very rarely does that.

I don't know about such thisngs but someone (I seem to recall) mentioned it could be a vacuum issue.

Does anyone have any experience, where to look, how to fix, how much will it cost?

Thanks
Phil
