Utility Tray Repair - Help
I am hoping there is someone out there who has encountered the same problem and has come up with a fix.
One of my small utility trays (the ones that are on either side of the emergency flasher button) has stopped working. The automatic spring spring or whatever makes it pop out is not working. Is there a way to remove the tray without taking the dash apart?
Thanks

Chalk me up to having the same issue. I know you can pop off the plastic that rests beside the utility tray with ease, and that gives you enough space to pull the tray out. But once you pull it out I havent found a way to figure out what the problem is. I don't want to order a replacement and have that not work as well.

It comforting to know I am not the only one. However, we do need to find a fix. Really hate to go to the dealership for something like this.

There was another thread in Aug last year regarding the same thing and no one replied to that one with any hints. I read a couple more forums but have been unable to come up with any kind of resolution. Some people believe it gets stuck because there is something that has fallen behind it, I think I'll take mine out tonight and have a look.

Do you mean the cardholder? If so the trim (bezel) around the cardholer comes right off. Depending on your options, you either have a cardholder on the left and a cupholder on the right, or buttons for ESP and such on the left and a cupholder on the right. On both you should have your hazard light switch in the centre. If either the cardholder or cupholder are broken, you simply remove the trim and it's either a hex or a torx bit to remove the broken piece.

Hi LR Audi
So I had a close look at taking off the bezel to access the stuck utility tray the other day. i did not find a simple bezel that comes right off. It seemed to me that I would need to remove a large centre console type piece that bolts down in several locations. It did not sem simple to remove so I thougt I would consult first before I tore apart the interior.
can you shed some light on it for me.
Thank you very much for any help you can offer
