I think you have to confirm the actual offset of your current wheels and compare them to the offset of the replicas you plan to purchase, then purchase the spacers according to the difference. In regards to rubbing, are you planning on using the same width of tire? If so then you shouldn't have a problem. If you're going with something wider than there is potential to rub.

The Vag-Com is a diagnostic tool that you can use to access your car's computer. You can do all sorts of cool things with it. I don't have one yet but I plan to get one. They are available from Ross-Tech. I was able to permanently leave my A6 in sport mode, reprogram the locking/unlocking functions as well as clear my Check Engine Light and so forth. If you plan on doing any type of work on your car, this software is as important as a ratchet set.
