tpms sensors
I'm looking to get after market rims for my 08 audi A4 quattro and i was wondering about the tire pressure sensors.Do i need them?if so where's the best place to get them?Or can i get my mechanic to turn them off in the computer?I want to leave the rims and tires that are on it now for intact for winter.

Re: tpms sensors
i have summers as well on mine and leave my factory ones for winter. i bought the TPMS for them for about $300-350 for my summers. worth it in my opinion as the summers are normally a more expensive investment. if not the light will come on saying you have a TPMS sensor issue. as far as i know there is no way to turn that light off. perhaps if you vagcom into the car you can tell the car it doesn't have that feature. personally id rather spend the $300 and have them installed.
ps. if you do get them done and tpms installed. the light will come on about 2-5mins after driving on the summers with new tpms installed and every time you switch from summers to winters. you just need to go into the menu on the wipers controller and go to tires and choose the option to say new tires installed and it will store the new values.
hope that helps out guys. if you have any more questions feel free to ask away!

Re: tpms sensors
You can disable the TPMS right through a Vag-Com, as stated earlier. Personally I don't even care for it. I have it on my A4 but thankfully I don't have it on my A6. It's just another added expense to a car that's already expensive and complicated.
I would simply purchase a set of wheels and be done with it. Save the money for something else. The sensors on these are not cheap at all. If you're old school like me and check your tire pressure regularly (I do it once a week) then you should be fine.
As far as spacers for big brake kits, it depends on which big brake kit you're looking at. For our cars I've seen anywhere from 322mm to 368mm kits. There are kits from Statis, Stoptech, Brembo, etc.

Re: tpms sensors
When i went to order replica rims from OE Wheels in Florida the guy said they wouldn't fit over the calipers on a s line and that i would need spacers so now i'm timid to order.I believe the off set on my car is 43 so what would spacers make it and would they rub?
