Default keys issue

I changed batteries for both keys, I didn’t do any Vag-com , they both worked once I have them in ignition, but one of them has large operating range the other one I have to be almost beside the car to use it, does anybody has any idea about the reason. And how can I improve the operating range for the second key
Thanks

Might be a bad battery; have you tried swapping batteries and see if the problem follows; otherwise likely a bad key; does holding the switchblade against your chin help with the range for the bad one?
