Folks,

Just joined this forum as I'm thinking about bringing an A4 in from the States. I've called Audi North America to verify a few things and would like to share with the folks here who may be interested.

Earlier in this thread there was a discussion about the Audi CPO not being valid in Canada, if a car was purchased in the States with the CPO. This, to my knowledge, is incorrect. I have called and verified with Audi NA at least 3 times and confirmed that if a car in the US has a CPO, it is indeed valid in Canada. One should note that there is a $150 transfer fee for CPO to be active in Canada.

Also, wanted to note that Audi Care (2 different portions - regular warranty and CPO warranty) if purchased with the US CPO vehicle is valid in Canada - just read the rules on Audi Care from the website because there is a mileage restriction on getting Audi Care for the CPO portion. The timing belt change is covered in one of regular maintenance schedules for the CPO Audi Care portion (what the dealer told me - haven't verified this yet). The price for Audi care is cheaper in the States and the price is negotiable with some dealerships in the States from my experience. I think Audi Care is worth it if it can be negotiated as part of the deal.

If anybody can confirm or dispute the above information it would be truly helpful.

Thanks,
Jonnyk

Guys
after the new year starting Jan 2008 Lewiston border will no longer accept faxing the title 72 hours prior of exporting the car , you have actually deliver the original copy personally or by Carrier along with two copies and a return address envelop. I was just about to fly to get my car after faxing the title but I was lucky I called and they told me that I can’t, just wanted to share this info with every body , I am new here any way I hope happy new year to every body

I called Audi today regarding the info you just posted and they told me there is nothing you need to do, the CPO is automatically valid in Canada the only this you need to do is let the dealer you bought the car from register the car on Audi system so the system will show that the car is certified under you name, the dealer will do that any way every month for every car they sell, hope that will help

I was wondering if anybody could quickly go over my math to make sure I didn't overlook anything. I'm flying out to pick up the car tomorrow:

Vehicle Price: $22,110
RIV Fee: $209
GST (5%): $1105.50
AC Tax: $100
Duties (6.1%): $1348.71
PST (5%): $1768.80
Licensing: $20

Total: $26,662.01

Does this all look right? They are providing the recall clearance letter free of charge. Daytime Running Lights are included in the Technology Package and it includes the front license plate holder.
