No pics yet - but it's identical to this guy's car except no quattro...

I saw a red 06 s-line on autotrader.ca in north vancouver a few weeks ago - I think they were asking $39k or something.

Hi Jimminez,

Could you please tell me the shop were you had your DRLs done in Ottawa? I need to get it done for my 98 A4. Did you also have to get the child tether anchorage done?

Thanks,

Hi, bought our 2007 A4 cab. off of ebay in November. We went through a car dealership in St. Catharines. My wife pick it out and told the dealer about it and they bought it and brought it in to Canada. They took it to the Oakville dealer to get the work done to be legal in CDA. Meaning the running lights only, the speedometer has km's on it, though the smaller numbers but it was suffiecent enough. Now we lease it at a cheaper price than if buying it here. The was as they said immaculant, but at the dealership in Oakville they heard a noise with the engine haveing only 6000miles on it they called Audio, only to be told to check certain perametors. After to the test they told Audio the outcome of the test and Audi's responce was don't monkey around with it anymore just put in a new Engine 2.8L and they did at no cost to us. See it a domestic car company would do that.

I just bought a loaded '07 A4 S-line in the US and figure I saved about $10k in the process.

It was pretty simple and no modifications were required on the car. The biggest thing to remember is that US customs requires ORIGINALS of the Title and Bill of Sale for 72 hours before you bring the car over the border. So it is best to have the dealership courier it to the US border that you will be crossing at. When I was picking up my paperwork at the border, there was a guy in front of me that faxed his in and he was being turned away because they required the originals.

Also, the RIV now requires the Recall Letter from the manufacturer BEFORE they will issue you the form you need to bring your car in for the Federal Inspection at Cdn Tire. So make sure you get this from Audi and fax it to the RIV or they won't process your paperwork.

I would have prefered to buy local, but it was definitely worth the effort to save that much dough.

Are you sure you only saved 10k's, that seems a bit low. We saved twice that plus a little more.

Depends what you compare it to. It is a 6 month old car. If you compare it to a new one here, then yes, I saved well over $20k. I haven't seen any 6 month old S-lines for sale in Canada so not sure exactly what it would go for here.

Now that sounds correct, ours had 6000 miles so i guess thats about 10'ks and we got it for 50,000 and the one in St. Kitts was 80,000 and the one we got had all the option avaliable. But still in the end is was a big, actually gigantic gamble.

No that I wasn't worried about. It was the buying of the car that I did not see in person, just a dozen pictures.

ah...

I know the first time I bought a car off of eBay I was kinda jittery. It helped me tremendously to call up the sellers and have a walkaround of the car with me on the phone.

Some of my friends mentioned that if I buy a car from a smaller dealer, I should have them drop it off to the brand (audi) dealer for them to do a write-up on. Then I could probably get an un-biased opinion.
