HID light went.. replaced... worked 3-4 days, now dead..
I was driving a corner in the parkade I live in, and it went off.. plus message on the panel "Right Dipped bulb failure".
Looking at vag-com - I get this now
1 Fault Found: 00979 - Lamp for Low Beam: Right (M31)
57-00 - Electric Circuit Failure
00979 - Lamp for Low Beam; Right (M31)
Any idea?
I'm tempted to pull apart the wiring harness and see if something is loose inside.. I took the headlight out again today, took a look at the bulb everything looks good.
Any idea what electric circuit failure means? Break in the wiring somewhere?

I swapped the other working bulb back... is dead also. So - that most likely means ignitor is dead.
How much are those?
The other weird thing - the 1st time I took the light out, the harness clip came off super easy. Now.. it doesn't want to come off at all

what a rabbit hole I have uncovered..
Searching on Ebay, for the ballast - Audi Part # LAD5GL, it turns out, its actually used in a variety of vehicles including Chrysler...
There is an equiv mopar part # - 5139061AA - from what I can determine, I can get the 'Audi' one used, for like $150 plus shipping, the chrysler part looks like it goes for $50 NEW at the dealer
Talk about rape and pillage... I'll try to find one in town tomorrow!

Now this is nuts. the other one went. Quick question - disconnecting the harness on the ballast itself, I see with the lights off, basically 0V. With the lights turned on, like 11.67V.
If I disconnect the ballast completely, should the the fault change at all? It just says circuit failure-
I tried disconnecting one of the other bulbs in the light, I get "circuit failure" when its disconnected, and see the same voltage.. so I know there is power going to the light.
Just seems weird, new bulbs, burnt out the old ballasts.
