Audi Air Conditioning Systems - amazing.
Hey folks,
I just thought I would make a post about AUDI's HVAC systems. I've had my A4 since early March of this year (a 2007 B7 2.0T Q). I came from a Japanese car, and my family has owned only German cars (MB, BMW).
The AUDI's HVAC system simply blows me away. Living in Ontario, we've had some truly stupidly hot days, and it's just really neat that you get into your car that's about 80'C in there (slight exagerration here), but within 3 minutes, you find yourself cold and you have to turn UP the temp.
I've tried over the summer to figure out how AUDI does this, and I got my answer while checking my oil. I started my car for about 30 seconds, and then turned it off to get a good reading. I noticed a HUGE puddle of water underneath the car (I had to make sure it was water so I smelt it and looked at the color because I was blown away).
It seems AUDI's AC systems simply extract a heck of a lot of water out of the air (well designed DENSO compressor?). Cold dry air = heaven! (As Ontario is humid hot air)
I remember the days of my Infiniti. It'd blow cold air, but i'd still be stinking hot for about 30 minutes...mainly because the air was still "relatively" humid.
Kudos to Audi. I hope my AC system never craps out on me!!

My AC system doesn't work either. Will have to get it fixed in Spring. Apparently it is the pressue switch. Easy to get at but the system has to be drained. Pain in the a$$.
When it works I am sure it will be great!
