Default A4 3.0 125,000 km...

Hi,
So my A4 hit 125,000 a few days ago. Everytime I fire up the car, I get the "Service!" light on the dash.

I had the timing belt replaced (water pump also etc) when the alternator went about 15,000 KM ago... is there any real reason to take it for service now? I check all the fluids, and I'm fine.. power steering brakes etc.

I'm due for a oil change shortly.. is there anything else that needs to get checked out? Everything else seems fine. When I bought it a year ago, the brakes were done etc.

Sean

It seems like your maintenance is good. If I were you I'd just live with the light until the next oild change and ask them to clear it.

That service reminder is just on a timer type thing. It is supposed to get reset when you change your oil. I believe it starts at 8000kms and then just counts down from there. If it doesn't get reset, which happens a lot depending on who changes your oil, the service light will come on everytime you start up.
