The SE comes with all standard options on the 2.0T plus:
bi zenons;
metallic paint;
power passenger seat;
Rain and light sensor with coming home;
memory for drivers seat, mirrors;
auto dimming exterior mirrors;
auto dimming interior mirror with compass;
s-line body moldings;
trip computer;
all for $42,150
The Pogressiv pkg comes with everything above, plus Bluetooth and you can order the S-line sport package for $1500 which gives you the 18" GmbH wheels, NK black interior, multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters on the tiptronik, sport suspension and brushed aluminum trim. For another $1500, you can get the Bose sound system, Sirius satellite radio and i-pod adapter.

I was waiting to get the progressiv pkg, but I recently had a change of heart after trying a BMW 328xi, so I am now leaning that way. Hopefully I don't regret it. Leasing will also be a fair bit cheaper due to the bimmers high resales.

Re: 2008 A4 Special edition?
End of Feb, they were trying to unload the remaining SE's. Some great incentive prices, and even more because i was coming off lease for my 2004 Avant (which i loved..something about the style of that 2004 model was just great). I wound up springing for the complete Sport package, so have the 18's, and as silly as it may sound, that three pronged steering wheel. I felt silly at first paying extra just for the Rims and the steering wheel (and a few other internal styling things) given that the SE came with the S-line body etc, but the truth is the steering wheel is your interface with the car, and the sport wheel just provides better gripping points for all styles of holding the steering the wheel. weird, but i'm quite happy i got it. and the rims just look great on the car.
so far (and it's only been a week), i'm highly pleased with it.
