Default 2007 A4 Avant Advice

All,

I am looking to purchase a 2007 A4 Avant from a Ontario dealer under the CPO program. Car has 60,000 km and they are asking $29,500. Apparently the car is from Audi Auction from Quebec.

Features include Premium package and convenience packages, but I noticed that it does not have a ski pass thru, or bluetooth or Ipod connectivity. They said an Ipod hook-up is about $800.

They mentioned Audi Care was originally purchased on the car and is good up to and including 70,000 km service. They offered extended Audi care until 115,000 km for $850. Since I am new to Audi I am looking for advice on what to look for on B7s, and some guidance on price. Please help, I am looking to close the deal this Saturday.

First of all, it's a B7. B8's start with 2009.

Can't really comment on the price. Did you check out the Certfifed Pre-Owned cars thru Audi Canada at: Audi Canada > Home

They all come with extended coverage. Hope this helps a bit. Good luck with your dealings. You will not be disappointed with an Avant.

Right...B7. The vehicle is listed (066662) under CPO. Yes they include an additional 2 years/40,000 km warranty with $100 deductible. I was looking for some input on Audi Care...

Audicare is basically free scheduled mtce to 4 years or 80 kms. Its a great package (pre purchase is considerably less expensive than paying per visit). Last mtce within the 80k distance is at 70k ...

Good luck with your deal !

Does anyone know what is involved in hooking up an Ipod in a B7 ?

I recently purchase a sedan from Quebec. From a dealership but not audi. I paid 21K. It had 45k premium package etc. The only issue was wear on the seat but I have since had the panel replaced for 250.00.

With premium the bluetooth should work. I can't answer my BB by using the buttons on the steering wheel and must press the answer button on my phone. The sound is very good when talking on the phone and the radio volume shuts off when the phone rings. Not perfect but more than ecceptable.

I am in Ontario so they did have to drill holes and mount a licence plate on the front. The other issue is french only manuals though I think for under 100.00 you can get replacement on ebay if you want.

I am ok buying without the extended warrantee though I do service it at an Audi dealership. That is a personal choice and comfort level.

Good luck,

Not all B7 A4 with Premium pkg had BT. If you have a phone cradle inside your armrest, then you have BT.
$800 for an ipod interface is way too much. The Dension icelink works great for ipods.
Ski bag was only part of the cold weather pkg in '07, which also included heated rear seats and headlight washers. I'm not sure if the CPO Audi Care is needed, find out if it includes the timing belt change, if it does, then it's worth it. There's some confusion about this.

Good luck!

Alex,

Once again you come thru with helpful info. I have weird feeling about this car coming from Quebec, just something about it. Although I negotiated down over $3000, I think I could do better. So what is a reasonable deal over Black Book value?

The AudiCare goes to 115,000 km, the belt replacement is now set at 145,000 km according to the service advisor I talked with that day. To me the services look like oil changes and a few extras.

After spending some time in the showroom during the negotiation, I couldn't stop looking at the new S4... very nice.

There's nothing wrong with a car from QC providing all its history is available, we've bought a few in the past and they were good cars.
IMO, $26,500 is not a bad price for an Avant with low ks and as nicely equipped as this one is. And the fact that it includes Audi Care and CPO Audi care is a nice bonus.
My understanding was that the timing belt had to be done at around 115ks.

I don't blame you for looking at the S4, it's an awesome car.
