Unhappy Waited three weeks to long to buy my A4 now not worth it???

Hi just wondering if anyone else here in Canada has done the math with our dollar dropping so quickly in the last couple weeks? I figure a $20000 USD for an American car 3 weeks with dollar at lets say $1.03 CAD to $1.00 USD dollar would of came out to the following.

2006 Audi A4 with 6 speed Manual Silver Quattro my dream car I was ready to Buy

Car=$20,600 CAD
Duty 6.1 % = $ 21,81856.60 CAD
GST 5.0 % =$ 22,949.43 CAD
Shipping $2000 USD to Edmonton = $2060
Extra Inspections and Add ons $1000

Grand Total Three Weeks ago for $20,000 USD car = $ 26009.43 CAD

Now with Dollar at practically $1.20 CAD to $1.00 USD

=$30,137.20 CAD

Hence what the car would cost me here to buy now.

Am I out of luck? Any suggestions? Maybe US cars will sell for cheaper now as I figure no Canadians right now will buy in the states. Why would they? I have more choice in States on Colors and options but I always take that chance however and to what save no money now???

Any thoughts on the matter? Can we buy lease backs here in Canada for what dealers can? How does one get that connection??

Best Regards

Hey Oiler Country, that's the way I purchased my 2006 A4 2.0T, of a lease, the previous owner returned it after 1 year, as he didn't like the A4, and got an 2008 A6. I knew the owner of the dealership, which gave me the tip before he put the car on the lot, the very next day I went to see it, and test drive it of course, 1 hour layer, I left with a down payment, and contract in hand.

The short answer is yes, that can be done in Canada, there are many places (not necessarily Audi dealerships) that sell pre-owed certified cars, which also includes some dealers. But you have to know the right place, as your dealership for pre-owned vehicles. I was sort of lucky to get one, that's a year old, with less than 20'000 Km on it.

good luck...

Yes I do agree you have to be in the right place at the right time to get those deals. I just seem not to be there yet I am curious if Audi Canada has lease back auctions here? If so how do you go to one and bid on cars?

Or is this a secret car cult you have to be member of? And just curious how much would a dealer in Canada give someone a trade on a 2006 Audi Quattro in AA++ shape with 50,000 km on it? Any idea what trade in value is? So if I have to buy locally from dealer I know what they paid for car.

Cheers
