Useful cup for useless cupholder?

Re: Useful cup for useless cupholder?
what i do, ask for an extra cup. take the extra cup, pour 1/4 your coffee (and i am using Tims as a reference, also used McDicks Coffee and 7-11) into the second cup. take your original cup (now 3/4 full) with the top still intact (a must for your tims cup) and sit it in cup holder #2, which is the one by the ebrake.
now feel free to enjoy your 1/4 cup of coffee, and continue to fill as needed. i have only had problems while driving "offensively" in snow having it spill this way

Correct. Soda cup holder in car was a good source for making fun of fat Americans for a long time

Seriously, I've been using a stainless steel cup and lid that has a sliding open and close spout for more than a year now. Looked long for one that fit the dash holder without being tippy and finally lucked out at Wal-Mart of all places. The shape is the key! Washes up great, rubber seal on lid never leaks or loosens up, best 10 bucks I ever spent on a mug! I use this cup every working day of the year on my commute and heve never spilled a drop, even with aggresive driving it won't topple or spill, no worries. It also fits the armrest perfectly without issue, my better half uses the same one there as we carpool together. I've tried several and this is the only one I found to work.
