Agreed. IMO unless you swap in the LED tail-lights or smoked tails then stick with the normal bulbs, your wallet will thank you.

ok enough about the taillights! how are you supposed to get out the headlight cover to change them, yes remove that little plastic pieces and then what the whole assembly is not attached by any of those screws unless is it? I am to take out the entire headlight front and back piece and disconnect the headlight and take it all out or those two tiny little clips then somehow are unhooked like the ignition coils clips? someone help....started to get frustrated over something so small!!!

Do you have Xenons or Halogens? I only know about the Xenon adjustment. I used VCDS/VAG-COM on Module 55 Xenon Range control; go in to Basic Settings and read Group 1, adjust aim using 2 white nylon screws on top of the housing, read Group 2 to set this as the "new" home position.

You know this was started as a tail light question right?

Anyway, No LED Tail light bulbs for me... The regular bulbs are only about $2.50 for a 2 pack at CDN Tire, so all is well with Tail lights again... Thanks for the feedback...

Cheers!

Hey guys, this is my first post, so bear with me... I picked up an '05 A4 a few months ago and have had a few routine issues I've had to get looked at. Other than that, loooove the car.

On the topic of taillights however, I have a bit of an annoying problem. It began on a very cold day. I started the car and got an error message saying the left dipped headlight was out. Ok fine, got the bulb replaced, no big deal. A couple of days later, another cold one, the right tail went out. I tapped the housing and it came on. Schweet! Well the next day it went out again for good (so not a connection issue). I got some bulbs and replaced it.. Immediately the right side tail went out. Just replaced THAT one tonight and now it says the brake light is out.. WTF? Any suggestions are much appreciated.

How do I get at the rear brakelight to replace the bulb? From the inside or outside? Do I need special tools? 2004 A4 Avant (left brakelight)
