Tail light bulb burnt out in a 2005 a4. Can anyone tell me what kind of bulb I need and where the best place to get one is (in Vancouver)?

Thanks

wait! b4 you say you have a tail light bulb out, is this because someone told you and you have seen your drivers side light brighter then the passangerside and you assume the passanger side is out??

If so, there is no tail light out, you have only activated your rear fog light. go to your light switch and turn it all the way to the right. then pull it out...slightly..thats the first fog light setting(just the fronts) pull it out a second time and the other fog light symbol shows up in yellow(i think, first is green, or other way around). this is your rears. I made this mistake the day i got the car.

LOL! For some reason, I read it as plate light. I think the bulb you need is a 1156 but I'm not 100% positive.

I always take the burnt bulb out before I go buy a replacement. That way I can be sure I'd get the right one.

Like others said, anywhere that sells auto parts would do. I usually just go to Canadian Tire.

Just had my passenger side tail light go on me (not the fog light issue) wondering if there is an LED substitute available for the regular incandescent bulb set?

Great! Thanks! Also, are they worth it? I quickly checked online, some of those little "Multi LED Array" type bulbs are $20.00 Each... OUCH! I expect benefits of durability (no filament to break) and maybe brightness, but if I need 3 per tail light, at $20.00 a bulb, thats $120.00. Anybody know more about this stuff, part #'s locations for supply, availability, price, durability, performance (light output) etc. Or am I just barking up the wrong tree, and should I just stick with the regular regular bulbs and get used to replacing them?

Thanks!

The LED's arent really worth it in my opinion! They are a hell of a lot more expensive up front and the technology is improving on the day by day.
