Sad Day in my life!!!
So I sold my Red 2004 Audi A4 1.8T quattro, and I am now driving / sharing my wifes civic. I sold it because I really want an S4 but then the appeal of filling up every other day LOL with that 4.2 isnt as great. I am still looking for the S4 and will probably not buy until April - May but boy am I going to miss the quattro this winter. I also looked at getting the 2.0T A4 but I am unsure of the decission yet so it is going to be tough!
What do you think? List reasons why and why not? Help me make up my mind!
I was initially going to purchase an RS4 but choose not to for other reasons, and the other option was an M3 being a V6 and less gas but it is a 2 door unless I go brand new which I dont want to do!!! So the M is out of the question and back to Audi again!!!

Re: Sad Day in my life!!!
The S4 would be awesome...but it would require more gas obviously.
IMO it all depends on how much you drive each day, if it is a ton of driving then you may want to avoid the bigger engines however if you don't drive too much then it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Sad Day in my life!!!
I took my 07 2.0T into the shop yesterday because it developed a nasty oil leak around the filler cap... To make a long story short they loaned me an 2008 A4 S-Line with the 3.2 in it... I know it isnt an S4, but man does that puppy go. Now the downside was when I started watching the fuel consumption gauge vs mine... LOL I drove it for two hours so far, and as much fun as it is, I want my 2.0T back... The gas consumption would kill me (and it's not even an S4), and I think the speeding tickets would add up too...

Re: Sad Day in my life!!!
have you see the topgear episode of the hybrid prius vs the m3? prius rips it up on the track and all the m3 has to do is keep up. M3 was more fuel efficient - get the m3 or s4 if you do a fair bit of longer distance driving vs 10-15km a day. You can wait till the b8 a4 come for sale in september. I wouldn't rush to buy a car unless you had to.
Another story my friend works @ DFC (downtown fine cars), he told me him alone in one year did 11 engine swaps for 4.2 motors.... thats 1 tech almost 1 engine a month. Some food for though.

Re: Sad Day in my life!!!
isnt that a W12, or the same engine that they put into the Bentley Continental GT??
how would those compare to a S4 or an rS4???
