Re: performance chip
Both on my B5 A4 (2000) and my current B6 (2004), I went with APR... APR 1+ on the 2004, using a set of Genesis Injectors. Worth every penny!
That being said, I don't bash any other chip makers... I just personally like the options/support APR offers.
A good rule of thumb is select a vendor that is closest to you... in case you need any trouble-shooting, etc.

Re: performance chip
Sorry guys ! I came across a GF Performance Chip for the A4 ( cost only $69 ) Is it for real ? The site also stated the MSRP is $399.99
Moreover, it seems very easy to install ( within 15 min )
If any one can help please advise...
My 2005 A4 is already "too fast!" for me. However, I'm curious if the chip would improve fuel consumption? Also lower emissions? Both claimed by the manufacturer.
Thanks everyone!

Those chips don't do anything. A real ecu flashed software is going to run you about $500-600. Go with either APR, GIAC, REVO, or Unitronics depending on what dealer is close to you. Do some searching on those companys and you'll get your answer on what suits you best.

Re: performance chip
really you think this car is "too fast" for you? These cars are real slow compared to almost everything else. My moms mini van is faster.. anyway.

Hey thanks a4rob!
I guess it's a waste of my time to install the $69 chip then - sounds like a gimmick then!? Any way I'm happy with my A4 it is definitely faster than your mom's minivan and it is also a fun car...
However, I may check out the real ECU as you had suggested as I don't mind spending $500 if the difference in HP is significant.

Re: performance chip
Best bet is APR Stage 1 will give you around 215hp and something like 260 torq HOWEVER like anything any chip will put additional stress on our little Turbo and would be wise to also replave the diverter Valve.
If you like it the way it is do not mess with it like any Ricer Honda...all internal parts will be solicitated more and I never understood why would anyone ioncrease HP and then forget about upgrading rotors/Brakes...etc
To each his own to me if the car ''required'' more they would have done it at the factory as I wdo not get into (ECU upgrade makes the car feel as it should have came from the factory'' nonsense
Oh well read read and read and make YOUR decision
