Default P0411 - A4/2002 1.8tq

From what I read there are a lot of issues with this code: Secondary Air Injection: Improper air flow. What this does it injects warm air into the catalysts to make them burn clean.
The Internet has a lot of "noise" re: this code and it is a bugger when it comes to Clean Air certification.
For me the code comes out more often in extreme cold wether, or when driven really hard from cold.
Owasco (Dealer) is not helpful and blames the chip (by Chris Tapp in Ottawa) for the problem: I feel it is one of the components that is the problem.

Has anyone experienced anything like this with or without a chipped car?

P.S. It appears to be a problem with AUDI and VW alike, regardless of engine or year!!!

I've been having a problem with P0411 for past year... tried to fix the problem by myself, took it to mechanic 4-5 times and the light still comes on. Havent notice any changes to engine performance so i kinda ignore it now. But i will try to fix this problem when i find the best solution or mechanic hehe. (2000 A4 1.8T)

maybe this will help

Possible Solutions

* Check Fuel Pump Relay (J17)
* Check Hoses/Pipes to/between Components
* Check Secondary Air Injection Pump (V101)
* Check Secondary Air Injection Pump Relay (J299)
* Check Secondary Air Injection Solenoid Valve (N112)

is this not the supplementary air pump that operates at cold starts?

Yay, first post. I have the p0411 and p0160 codes popping up right now. Secondary air pump incorrect flow reading and bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor "no reading". I took the airbox out to clean the MAF (just 'cause), and noticed that one of the connectors going to the secondary air pump was disconnected. The connector has been badly damaged (probably from dragging on the road), so I'm either going to clean it up, buy a new one, or MacGyver up a new connector out of two elastic bands, a Q-tip, and a little love. The disconnected air pump would explain no reading for the post Catalytic oxygen sensor. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. I have to do my emissions testing in two days, so I really hope this works, haha
