Yes you will get a cel/dtc if you get a testpipe, that is why I said to chip it, and get the tuner to code out the secondary O2 sensors- then no codes!
As for eBay cats: that is up to you, my friend.
Smell: yes, the exhaust will smell a little different. Enough to get kicked out of a drive-in? Only if they also kick out people in busted *** chevy's etc from the 80's and 90's lol!
Ok tomorrow I'll get replaced the plugs by new NGK BKR6E, as found on a forum. I'll also change the air filter. I'll also order a test pipe, since it's almost the same price as an ebay cat.

Concerning deleting the "CEL" code (don't know what CEL means!) I have a vag-com. Can I delete that code with it?

Because I came to think that since there is a check engine code, which is probably raised by the cat, the car may have gone in "limp mode", the reason of my lack of power ??

And finally for the turbo test, I made the little piece needed to test it, but I feel that there is a lot of stuff to remove to get access to the turbo... Maybe I should get it done by a mechanics.

What you think about all that ?

cel = check engine light
vag com can not code out the secondary )2 sensor, only a tuner will do this.
i am not so sure you are in limp mode, you may only have a plugged cat. get your car scanned with vag com and post up all the codes.
how do you intend to test the turbo?
do you mean a leak tester to check for boost leaks? you do not hook one of those up right to the turbo.

Hi,

I intend to test the turbo with a home made leak tester. Something like this

I am not sure where to plug it, but I'll have it done by a mechanics.

I'll scan my car with vag-com tonight and bring the info then.

For the CEL code, well it's too bad I only have a vag-com, not a tuner! I suppose I can have this done by unitronic the same time I'll chip it?

Oh and for the test pipe, is ther a big difference between using a 2.5" test pipe and a 3" test pipe ? I saw both of them on the net...

Thanks !!

your not going to be able to run a test pipe because you will fail your emissions testing with one.

you cant delete codes with vag-com.

Just to add, a test pipe will also give you a permeant CEL

some tuners can delete them but some will not, you have to check first. But again you wont pass emission with one.

Oh i thought you were in Ontario. We have them every 2 years.

Either way if you run a test pipe your going to have that CEL always for a faulty Cat. Eye sore.

Almost any stage 2 tune automatically deletes the cat codes. Unitronic has O2 delete as well. So does apr, giac, and most others.

Ummmm that is what stage 2 is. A test pipe. A stage 2 tune for the 1.8T is no more aggressive that stage 1, it just codes out the cat cel. So if you are putting in a testpipe, you just get the stage 2 file. Even if you are not getting a testpipe, get the stage 2 anyway, unless you want to add it later.
