Locking B6 A4 without any beep or sound?
I did read every single thread…
https://www.audiforum.ca/a4-b6/31646...-when-car.html
All of a sudden when I lock my car with any of my key fobs, and making sure all doors, hood/trunk…etc are fully closed. Pressing the key fob, he lights light up the car close up.
The driver side red light stays one for a few seconds and then blinks which to me means that the alarm is armed/activated but no chrip/beep as before!
Same goes when pressing the panic button, hazrads lights go on non stop but no sounds whatsoever
I guess the battery inside the horn module should simply be cracked in order to replace the 3.6 volts battery?
This module is located on the right side of the trunk
Would this work or I need the dealership?
Or screw it! Who needs alarm and beep as long as it locks completely???
One post said it was a costly $250 part (voice coil shorted internally)
Any suggestions please?

Did you check the fuses? Did you do any reporgramming lately? This feature can be removed and un-programmed. Its a spare battery for the alarm system and if you are somewhat of a DIY guy you can DIY. As far as the benefits of it go? Do you need it or not? I would change it personally as I like the audible feedback you get when you lock your car

@ Mikeh: When I got the notification that someone commented...I knew immediately that is you you with that same lame response lollll
I am still waiting by the way for your visit to Montreal!
@ 1Move: I do also like to hear the audible feedback
I haven't done anything recently besides changing at my independent Audi garage changing all rotors & pads + flushing engine oil...
From my reading I believe I have to crack open the alarm spare battery located in the trunk, or if I have to check for any potentially blow fuse, where would they be located?
Thank you!
